Engine: 5.3-litre DOHC alloy V8 (V540 or V580 series), 4 Weber carburettors on European cars; US-spec had lower quoted power

European version: ~300–315 bhp (varies slightly by source and year)

US-spec early ’80s: quoted as low as 245 hp due to emissions equipment.

Key “Oscar India” features (introduced Oct 1978):

Bonnet scoop deleted and replaced by a smooth “power bulge”

Integrated rear spoiler in the boot lid

Much more wood trim in the cabin (first time since DB2/4)
